ARNHEM, Netherlands, May 31–Edward Gal and Voice won the Outdoor Gelderland CDI3* Grand Prix Friday, third straight victory for the pair since the Netherlands rider began competing the black stallion at CDI Big Tour just a week ago.
Edward and the 11-year-old KWPN stallion (De Niro x Rohdiamant) scored 75.723 per cent with two Olympic combinations rounding out the top three–Belgium’s Claudia Fassaert and Donnerfee were second on 70.915 per cent and the Netherlands’ Patrick van der Meer and Uzzo third on 70.723 per cent.
Edward and Voice competed at Big Tour in a CDI at Rosendaal, Netherlands, just a week ago winning both the Grand Prix and the Freestyle.
Hans Peter Minderhoud rode Glock’s Ziesto won the Intermediate Freestyle with 79.650 per cent, with fellow Netherlands rider Geert Jan Raateland on Zorro second with 72.750 per cent and Great Britain’s Michael Eilberg and Woodlander Rockstar third on 75.525 per cent.
Shelly Francis of Loxahatchee, Florida rode Doktor in the first European compettion for the 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Diamond Hit x Renoir I) and scored 64.915 per cent for 11th place in the starting lineup of 15 combinations from seven nations.
Canada’s Pia Fortumuller, based in Europe, rode Orion to sixth place on 67.936 per cent.
