Sonja Keating, Lawyer for 20 Years with US Equestrian, Named Chief Executive Officer Effective Jan.1

Sonja Keating, a lawyer for 20 years with the U.S. Equestrian Federation, has been named Chief Executive Officer effective Jan.1.

She, currently chief operating officer and general counsel succeeds Bill Moroney who is retiring.

The appointment was announced by Thomas F. X. O’Mara, USEF president who described the selection as “the strongest fit against what the role demands and what you (members) told us you need.”

Sonja joined USEF in 2006 as part of the general counsel’s office. She became general counsel and retained her legal responsibilities when appointed COO in 2022.
