Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu on Jaccardo is entered in this week’s opening World Cup qualifier after missing the Final in Fort Worth, Texas in April that would have been the first pariticipation by a Canadian in the annual championship since 2013.
Brittany and the 12-year-old Dutch-bred gelding are among 15 horse and rider combinations scheduled to compete at the Main Line Philadelphia suburb of Devon. It is the first of nine qualifiers scheduled in North America for the Final in Gothenburg, Sweden at the end of March.
Brittany and Jaccardo qualified as one of three pairs from North America to go to Fort Worth but had to withdraw when the horse was cast in his stall just days before the competition. The pair, however, competed for Canada at the World Championships in Aachen, Germany last month.
Kevin Kohmann of Wellington, Florida, is also entered at Devon, on the U.S.-bred Sonata MF to begin his quest for a fourth straight Final. He competed Dünensee, the Hanoverian gelding, in the last three World Cups.
Three combinations from North America are included in the 18 riders and horses in the Final.
Meagan Davis of Loxahatchee, Florida on Toronto Lightfoot that were on the USA team at Aachen and Camille Carier-Bergeron Canada’s team are also in the lineup at Devon.
In addition to Devon, qualifiers are on the calendar for Toronto and Mexico and one in California with five in Florida, one each at Terra Nove near Sarasota and Ocala and three in Wellington.
