LONDON,. Dec. 19, 2025–Reigning World Cup champion Charlotte “Lottie” Fry on Glamourdale won the championship qualifier in her homeland Friday but relatively minor mistakes that bookended the performance by Charlotte Dujardin on Alive and Kicking put them in fifth place.
The partnership of Lottie and the 14-year-old stallion Glamourdale that includes World Champion as well as the World Cup were awarded 89.170% for the win.
As the champion, the pair needs only two performances irrespective the results to return to the Final that next April will be in Fort Worth, Texas for the first time.
Paris Olympic 2024 team mate Becky Moody on her home-bred Jagerbomb, 11-year-old gelding, was runner up on 86.410% after placing third in Thursday’s Grand Prix.
Norway’s Isabel Freese on the 13-year-old Totilas stallion Total Hope placed third on 81.695%.
Charlotte Dujardin on the 11-year-old mare Alive and Kicking were fifth on 79.230%. A break in the piaffe on entry to the arena and again as the final movement impacted the result.
However, the Freestyle was only the second for Charlotte and Alive and Kicking and the horse did not appear affected by the packed indoor arena.
The crowd enthusiastically applauded the performance by the duo.
Charlotte has been Britain’s most successful dressage rider, especially on Valegro that earned the nation their first ever team gold at the 2012 Olympics in London as well as back-to-back World Cup titles in 2014 and 2015
The next qualifier in the Western European League is in Mechelen, Belgium beginning the day after Christmas.
