BALVE, Germany, June 10, 2023–World No. 1 Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and TSF Dalera BB returned to top form to win the German Championships Grand Prix Special Saturday while Sönke Rothenberger on the nine-year-old Fendi was reserve champion.
Jessica and the 17-year-old Trakehner mare, Olympic, European and two-time World Cup champions, were awarded 83.254% for the victory in the Special. The pair had placed second to Sönke and the Danish Warmblood stallion in the Grand Prix Friday.
Sönke and the Danish Warmblood stallion Fendi received a score in the Special of 79.882% from the all-German ground jury at the national level competition. The pair began international Big Tour eight months ago with just two CDIs on their record so far.
Frederic Wandres on his German team world championship mount Duke of Britain FRH, 16-year-old British-bred Hanoverian gelding, was third on 78.627%.
On the 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding Bluetooth OLD, Frederic was fifth on 77.686% after placing third in the Grand Prix.
Isabell Werth and the 13-year-old German Sport Horse DSP Quantaz were fourth on 77.901%.
