MUNICH, Germany, May 18, 2023–Germany’s Laura Strobel and Valparaiso won the CDI3* Grand Prix on a personal best score Thursday.
Laura and the 12-year-old Westfalen stallion were awarded 71.804 for the victory, the second since taking over the ride from Austria’s Victoria Max-Theurer a year ago.
Compatriot Anna-Christina Abbelen on Sam Donnerhall, 16-year-old Oldenburg gelding, was second on 70.500%.
The 26-year-old Anna, a member of Germany’s youth championship teams, and Sam Donnerhall competed in Florida’s Global Dressage Festival throughout the winter as part of the Hof Kasselmann team
Astrid Neumayer of Austria and Sir Simon NRW, 15-year-old Westfalen gelding, were third on 68.065%.
