OLOMOUC, Czech Republic, May 12, 2023–Justina Vanagaite on Nabab in their first competition since a popular performance at Omaha, posted a personal best score to win the World Cup Grand Prix Friday to launch the Central European circuit for next year’s Final in Saudi Arabia.
Justina of Lithuania and the 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding scored 72.087% for the first win since a string of four victories last summer. The pair went on to compete at the World Championships. then the Omaha Final.
Slovakia’s Michael Bugan on the 15-year-old Austran Warmblood gelding For President AWO placed second on 69.283%.
Diana Porsche of Austria and Douglas, 15-year-old KWPN gelding, was third on 68.804%.
The Freestyle to decide points toward qualifying for the 2024Final is scheduled for Saturday.
