Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour is back at No. 1 in the world while Americans Adrienne Lyle and Katie Duerrhammer are 1st and 3rd in Small Tour rankings.
Cathrine of Denmark on Mount St. John Freestyle climbed to the top of the Grand Prix-level standings from 31st the previous month in the latest International Equestrian Federation monthly rankings released Monday, a week ahead of the start of the World Championships.
The change at the top cascaded down with Justin Verboomen of Belgium at No. 2, Britain’s Charlotte Fry to 3rd, Isabell Werth of Germany 4th, Britons Becky Moody to 5th and Carl Hester to 6th.
However, Katharina Hemmer who competes the U.S.-owned Denoix PCH with the pair selected for Germany’s team at the Aachen championships moved back into the top 10.
In the 1* rankings for Prix St. Georges/Intermediate 1 competitions Adrienne Lyle on Hussmanns Topgun climbed to No. 1 from 71st at the end of June based on results from Wellington, Florida in winter and Germany last weekend. Adrienne succeeded Britain’s Dannie Morgan who dropped from the top to 2nd.
Katie Duerrhammer riding Rosebank VH, like Adrienne, her coach, based in Wellington in winter, shot up to No. 3 from 252nd the previous month with four victories in six starts in Florida and Germany so far this year.
