BALVE, Germany, June 4, 2026–Isabell Werth and Wendy de Fontaine was the clear winner of the German Championships Grand Prix Thursday with fellow Paris Olympic gold medal partnership of Frederic Wandres on Bluetooth OLD runner-up less with than 10 weeks to the World Championships.
Charlott-Maria Schürmann barely three months at Big Tour with Dante’s Pearl OLD tied with Isabell on Viva Gold OLD for third place.
The championships will help determine a short list for the four-member team to compete at the World Championships to be staged in Aachen, Germany beginning in mid-August that is also a qualifier for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.
Isabell and Wendy, 12-year-old Danish-bred mare, were awarded 81.240% by the five-member all-German ground jury. In addition to Olympic gold, the pair took gold a last year’s European Championships.
Frederic and Bluetooth, 16-year-old Oldenburg gelding, scored 76.560% for second.
Charlott-Maria and the 11-year-old mare Dante Weltino offspring tied for third with Isabell and the 10-year-old stallion Viva Gold on 76.520%.
Semmieke Rothenberger on Farrington, 16-year-old Dutch-bred gelding, placed fourth on 74.000% with Raphael Netz on Great Escape Camelot, also a Dutch-bred gelding a year younger, was fifth on 73.820%.
