FORT WORTH, Texas, April 11, 2026–Becky Moody on her home-bred Jagerbomb captured the 2026 dressage World Cup Saturday the rider’s first time in the annual championship.

The British rider and her 12-year-old gelding were awarded a personal best 88.830% for their Grand Prix Freestyle performance to the tumultuous acclaim of 6,000 spectators in this city of cowboys, cattle, Tex-Mex and high school football. One of the five judges gave Becky a mark of 90%.

Christian Simonson, the 23-year-old American who was competing in his first senior championship, was reserve on Indian Rock on a score of 83.810%, also a personal best. He received resounding applause from the home country crowd that were witnessing World Cup Finals in dressage and jumping for the first time in Fort Worth.

Poland’s Sandra Sysojeva on the 10-year-old Maxima Bella, youngest horse in the competition and her second Final, placed third on 80.770%.

“It’s just pretty crazy,” said Becky who was on Britain’s medal-winning teams at the Paris Olympics in 2024 and the European Championships last year.

“I mean, it was just insane to be part of such a cool competition. The crowd in there were absolutely something else.

“I’m wondering if they’re available for hire. We’re going to take them everywhere.”

Christian Simonson, who is based in Wellington, Florida, commented: “At the end of my test, looking up and seeing this wall of people standing up, applauding Rocky, and it was super special. It’s something I’ll never forget.

“This whole week has been a childhood dream come true, and unbelievably surreal.”

Being in cowboy country, he said, “it’s really special to see horse culture, whether it’s dressage or jumping, or in this case, cutting and reining.

“I think so many people that just have an inherent love of horses and to see that not only in competition, but all around the city and celebrated with art and competitions… I think it’s really special to see and as a fellow horse lover it’s quite cool to be a part of it.”

The music for Indian Rock was to highlight his nickname of “Rocky,” he said, was developed on American classics based on the Rocky movies.

“We just really wanted the music also to show how powerful he is of a horse. So I also had a really fun time listening to my music.”

For Christian and Rocky it’s the U.S. Championships next month in Ocala, Florida where a squad will be selected to go to Europe ahead of the World Championships.
