WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 5, 2026–Geñay Vaughn and Gino won the Global Dressage Festival CDI4* Grand Prix Thursday in the first Big Tour victory for the World Cup partnership away from their West Coast home circuit.

Geñay of Elk Grove, California and the 15-year-old KWPN gelding were awarded 70.283% in the pair’s fifth start since basing themselves in Wellington for this winter season seeking to earn one of three places for North America in the World Cup Final in Fort Worth, Texas in April. The duo competed in the Basel, Switzerland Final in 2025.

Geñay’s record includes 12 victories in CDIs on the U.S. West Coast in the past 15 months but none away before Thursday. It was the only combination of the 10 CDI4* combinations to score 70%, that occurred in unseasonably wet, windy and cold weather.

Devon Kane of Wellington and the 14-year-old gelding Vamos owned by her family’s Diamante Farms was runner-up on a personal best 68.717%. It was also the highest CDI Grand Prix placing for the partnership that has competed on both sides of the Atlantic in two years at Big Tour.

Katherine Bateson Chandler, also of Wellington, placed third on Haute Couture on 68.391%.
