Cesar Torrente of Colombia has been promoted to the top level dressage judge, officially FEI Level 4 but more popularly known as 5*. Cesar, 65, is also a judge for young horses and for para dressage.

As a lawyer, he was a member of the FEI Tribunal beginning in 2017 and became deputy chair three years later. Cesar resigned from the tribunal at the beginning of 2025 to focus more on judging.

He is a popular figure in dressage, know for a keen eye and approachable by riders and trainers.

As a competitor, he rode at the 1987, 1991 and 1995 Pan American Games, the South Americans in 2010 and the Central American Games in 1990 and 2010.
