WAYNE, Illinois, Aug. 18, 2025–Sabine Schut-Kery and the 11-year-old Portuguese Sport Horse
won Prix St. Georges Monday to kick off the week-long national championships.
Sabine of San Marcos, California and Jojoba, a French-bred stallion owned by Akiko Yamazaki, scored 72.235% for the victory.
The duo began competing in California at the beginning of 2024 including one CDI that was at Temecula in May.
The Intermediare 1 champion is decided by results of St. Georges, Int. 1 and Int. 1 Freestyle.
Elizabeth Bortuzzo of Frenchtown, New Jersey on Vincent, eight-year-old Oldenburg gelding, was runner-up on 70.647%.
Lauren Sprieser of Marshall, Virginia on C. Cadeau, nine-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, placed third on 70.235%.
