Belinda Nairn-Wertman, on the 1988 United States dressage Olympic team and an alternate in 1984, died Thursday, a day before her 70th birthday.

Belinda, born in Wellington, New Zealand,  was based in Pennsylvania at the time and used the family name of Larry Baudin, her then husband and veterinarian for the U.S. dressage team.

She rode Alegria as an alternate at Los Angeles in 1984 and Christopher on the 1988 team in Seoul, Korea.

In recent years, she was based in the Ocala area community of Williston with Bill Wertman, whom she met in Wyoming in 1990 and later married.
