Becky Moody rode James Bond to victory in the Wellington-Heckfield CDI3* Freestyle Saturday in the Olympic rider’s Big Tour debut on the 11-year-old stallion. Carl Hester on Fame takes Special.

Becky and the Dutch-bred horse that had been successful in Small Tour two years ago were awarded 77.640% for victory in the Grand Prix musical performance.

Becky, on Britain’s junior and young rider teams at the turn of the century, became a top sport star as a last-minute addition on her home-bred Jagerbomb to her nation’s team at last summer’s Paris Olympics where they took bronze. It was her first senior international championship.

Sadie Smith on Swanmore Dantina, 10-year-old British-bred mare, placed second on 75.665% that was only the second Big Tour event for the partnership.

Carl Hester and Fame took the Grand Prix Special on a score of 77.640% a day after capturing the Grand Prix on the 15-year-old KWPN stallion that was his Paris Olympic partner.

Andrew Gould on Indigro, 12-year-old KWPN stallion, was runner-up on 71.447%.
