HAGEN, Germany, June 6, 2025–Kevin Kohmann and Dünensee captured the CDI3* Grand Prix Special Friday for the American pair’s first double victory in Europe.
Kevin, based in Wellington, Florida and the 16-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 69.170% for the win, a day after claiming the Grand Prix.
The success of the partnership that represented USA at the World Cup Finals in both 2024 and in April this year comes after returning back to the horse’s home at Diamante Farms in Wellington after failing to sell in Europe.
Now, the duo appears certain to have earned a place on the USA Nations Cup team at the prestigious World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany next month.
Kasey Perry-Glass also of Wellington and Heartbeat W.P., 13-year-old KWPN gelding, on 68.681% was runner-up as the pair were in Grand Prix.
Jennifer Williams on Joppe K, in the 11-year-old KWPN gelding’s first Big Tour event outside North America, placed third on 68.021%.
The Americans are among a group of eight Grand Prix combinations competing in Europe this summer and focused on the Aachen Nations Cup.
