WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 29, 2025–Nine year-old JJ Glory Day was ridden by Marcus Orlob to victory in the Lövsta Future Challenge Int. II Friday on the highest score of series so far.

Marcus of Wellington and the Danish Warmblood stallion (Kastel’s Grand Galaxy Win x Deemster) owned by Alice Tarjan was awarded 73.294% for the win in the series with the final the last week of Global’s winter circuit.

Amanda Perkowski based in Wellington and the American bred Sonata MF (Sir Donnerhall x Don Principe) placed second on 70.618% to also qualify for the final.

Marcus described the ride on Glory Day as “easy, mistake-free.”

“I had a little bit of tension in the pirouettes but that was my fault; I collected a little bit too much but overall I’m super happy with him because he goes in the, he works for you and does his job with such lightness and power. So it’s quite amazing to ride him… the power and just the honesty; no spooking. He takes the aids, there’s no looking and he’s just always very honest, straightforward, he wants to work. Every day I never have to really motivate him or explain something, he’s really a good stallion.

The next step, “pretty close,” is to Grand Prix.

“When I go out with him, I really want to show a good Grand Prix, not mediocre, not like you’re just starting out. He’s very gifted, so I want to do him justice.”
