WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 19, 2025–Teams from Australia, Canada, Germany, Sweden and the United States kick off the 14th year of the official trans-Atlantic series with the CDIO3* Grand Prix Thursday deciding whether the powerful German squad can collect their fifth straight title at the Global Dressage Festival.

Since the series was launched by the International Equestrian Federation, USA won all but 2017 when Canada claimed the title until Germany swept the event from 2021 to 2024.

This will be the last year the United States chooses its team from applications by riders. None of top three ranked riders applied for the USA team.

In an effort to boost its competitiveness, the American team will be selected by U.S. dressage leadership in 2026 with the prospect of going to Europe at stake.

The series moves across the Atlantic to Europe after Wellington.

Scores of the top scoring three riders on each team will count for each country’s score in the Grand Prix to decide the title.
