WELLINGTON, Florida, Jan. 23, 2025–Germany’s Michael Klimke on the nine-year-old Harmony’s Dante’s Peak claimed the CDI3* Grand Prix Thursday in the Big Tour debut of the nine-year-old gelding.
Michael and the Dante Weltino OLD offspring owned by Harmony Sporthorses of Kiowa, Colorado were awarded 68.087% for the victory at the Global Dressage Festival.
Erin Nichols of Yorba Linda, California on Elian Royale, 16-year-old KWPN gelding, was runner-up on 67.630%.
Australia’s Jemma Heran, in her third year at Global and competing on the 13-year-old gelding Total Recall, placed third on 67.609%.
Dante’s Peak, was originally owned by Monica Burssens, the Wellington-based Mexican rider who trained with Michael in Germany.
“I fell in love with him after riding him for two minutes,” he said. “It’s really a top horse.
“The horse is green but has all the quality and little things here and there,” he said of Dante that was back in the show ring after a break of two years.. “He was a bit looking but overall he gave me a really good feeling.
