Katharina Hemmer on Denoix PCH, owned by American Nancy Gooding and Hubertus Schmidt, has been named as one of Germany’s five combinations on the Olympic squad.

Katharina took over the ride on the gelding in 2023 because of health issues for the world renowned Hubertus who initially competed Denoix from 2019 for Nancy of Larkspur, Colorado. Hubertus coaches Katharina.

The Olympic squad:

Katharina Hemmer and Denoix PCH, 12-year-old gelding;
Matthias Alexander Rath and Destacado FRH, 11-year-old Hanoverian stallion;
Sönke Rothenberger and Fendi, 10-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding;
Frederic Wandres and Bluetooth OLD, 14-year-old Oldenburg gelding, and
Isabell Werth with both DSP Quantaz, 14-year old German Sport Horse gelding, and Wendy de Fontaine, 10-year-old Danish Warmblood mare.

Both Frederic and Bluetooth and Isabell and Fontaine were on Germany’s team at the Paris Olympics. Frederic and Bluetooth have been a major feature at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida the past three years.

Felicitas Hendricks and her Drombusch OLD, 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding, the 2023 European Under-25 champion and successful at Grand Prix, was named to the Perspective squad. Felicitas told dressage-news.com she plans to return with Drombusch to Wellington for the 2025 Global circuit.
