The U.S. Open for dressage expanded to include the World Equestrian Center at Ocala and to bring to 25 the total number of qualifiers for the $250,000 final in Thermal, California in December which has been designated a CDI5*, the highest rating for the sport.
The number of qualifiers in Florida has risen to 16 spread among the major shows in Palm Beach, TerraNova in Myakka City as well as Ocala over 2025.
The designation as a 5* of the final at Desert International Horse Park Dec. 18-21 will be the first at that level in the United States outside of the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida.
The Open series for dressage, eventing and jumping is an innovation created by the U.S. Federation to boost the three Olympic disciplines ahead of Los Angeles Games in 2028.
