WELLINGTON, Florida, Oct. 21, 2024–A Future Challenge for horses five and six years old will be launched at the Global Dressage Festival next year, joining developing Grand Prix and Prix St. Georges competitions in the series.

The young horse qualifying competitions will be staged in the centerpiece International Arena, will be live streamed and have panels of FEI judges, similar to the Grand Prix and St. Georges contests.

Although there is currently no sponsor for the inaugural year of the increasingly important young horse division, there will be no class and stabling fees for the finalists in week 12, the wrap up of the winter-long Global circuit, said Thomas Baur who, with Monica Fitzgerald, manages Global.

Global will have an expanded Future Challenge schedule as well as a top rated CDI5* and a Nations Cup, the only such events in the Americas, three World Cup qualifiers and seven of the newly created U.S. Open qualifiers leading to the $250,000 final.
