WELLINGTON, Florida, Aug. 27, 2024–Ilse Schwarz, a dressage trainer and competitor based in Wellington, became an American citizen Tuesday.

Ilse, who has a doctorate from the University of New England in Australia, moved from her native Australia in 1998 to marry equestrian publisher Kenneth J. Braddick.

She has competed on Australia’s Nations Cup teams at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington and the U.S. young horse championships on an American-owned horse.

Ilse gives regular riding clinics in Ocala, Florida and Tryon, North Carolina as well as other locations, including Australia.

“I want to become more involved in the horse development programs and for that I believed it was important to be a U.S. citizen,” said Ilse who has developed several young horses to Grand Prix.

She has also been a contributor to dressage-news.com, including in-person coverage for years of the world young horse championships and other major international competitions.
