WAYNE, Illinois, Aug. 21, 2024–Christian Simonson and his Pan American Games gold medal mount Son of a Lady won the first leg of the U.S. Under-25 national championship Wednesday.
The 21-year-old rider and Son of a Lady were awarded 68.030% with a high score of 71.417% and a low score of 65.294% at the Festival of Champions.
Christian and the 13-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, based in Wellington, Florida and coached by Adrienne Lyle, were on the U.S, gold medal team at the Pan Am Games last October and earlier this month posted a pair of victories at the North American Youth Championships.
Ella Fruchterman on Hannah Montana W was runner-up on 65.971% with third place going to Sophie Schults on Conocido HGF with 65.500%.
