HAGEN, Germany, June 8, 2024–Nanna Skodborg Merrald debuted Blue Hors Znickers in the Grand Prix Freestyle to win the Horses & Dreams CDI3* performance to music at sunset Saturday with the USA’s Kasey Perry-Glass on Heartbest W.P. posting a personal best for runner-up.
The Danish rider who first rode the 11-year-old Oldenburg stallion at Big Tour two months ago was scored 79.975% for the victory and the last of 14 combinations in the class.
Kasey on Heartbeat W.P., the 12-year-old KWPN gelding that she has been competing at Big Tour also just over two months, was second on 75.280%.
The rider based in Wellington and competing Heartbeat in Europe for the first time alongside the U.S. Olympic short listed squad had competed the horse in only one other Freestyle, at TerraNova in Florida last month.
Patrik Kittel of Sweden on the 10-year-old stallion Jovian placed third on 75.165%
None of the U.S. short list riders competed in the Freestyle, but will ride Sunday in the Grand Prix Special.
