BALVE, Germany, June 6, 2024–Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and her Olympic gold medal partner TSF Dalera BB struggled to victory in the national Grand Prix qualifier for the German Championships Thursday.
Jessica and the Trakehner mare now 17 years old with an unbroken string of international victories stretching back to the Tokyo Olympics three years ago was awarded 78.640% by the all-German ground jury of five judges. The pair were marked down for mistakes in a passage-piaffe-passage tour and in the two-times changes.
Frederic Wandres on Bluetooth OLD, a 14-year-old Oldenburg gelding that he rode on Germany’s European Championship silver medal team last September has been a star over the past three years at the Wellington, Florida Global Dressage Festival was runner-up on 77.380% and also placed fourth on Duke of Britain FRH on 76.100%.
Ingrid Klimke on Franziskus FRH placed third on 76.840%.
The Grand Prix Special and the Freestyle over the weekend are the championship competitions.
