LE MANS, France, May 31, 2024–Maria Caetano of Portugal rode Hit Plus to victory in the CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle Friday and Julio Mendoza Loor on Jewel’s Goldstrike was third in the Ecuador rider’s first European international competition.
Maria and the 12-year-old Portuguese Sport Horse stallion Hit Plus were awarded 74.575% for the win, the fifth victory for the partnership so far this year.
Belgium’s Alexa Fairchild and Mala Skala’s Hermes, 12-year-old Lusitano stallion, was runner-up on 72.685%.
Julio Mendoza Loor, based in North Carolina and qualified on the 13-year-old KWPN gelding for the Paris Games., scored 72. 665% for third. The 2023 Pan American Games’ gold medal partnership placed seventh in the Grand Prix a day earlier.
