LE MANS, France, May 30, 2028–Corentin Pottier riding Gotilas du Feuillard seeking a start on France’s team at the Paris Olympics won the CDI4* Grand Prix Thursday.
Corentin and the 13-year-old KWPN gelding sired by Totilas scored 72.500% for the win. The partnership competed at the World Young Horse Championships as a seven-year-old, on France’s team at the 2022 World Championships and six Nations Cups.
Maria Caetano of Portugal on the 12-year-old Portuguese Sport Horse stallion Hit Plus was runner-up 71.391%.
Two other prospects for the Olympic home team of France, Alexandre Ayache on Jolene placed third on 71.370% and Pauline Basquin on Sertorius de Rima Z IFCE was fourth on 71.152%.
Ecuador’s Julio Mendoza Loor on Jewel’s Goldstrike, his 2023 Pan American Games gold medal mount, were seventh on 70.391% in the duo’s first ever European CDI which had 35 staring combinations. Julio, based in North Carolina, and the 13-year-old KWPN gelding, have qualified as individuals for the Paris Games.
