HAMMINKEIN, Germany, May 25, 2024–Marcus Orlob rode Jane to second place to Isabell Werth on Special Blend in a national Grand Prix Saturday, the rider’s first ever Grand Prix outside the United States.
Marcus based in Loxahatchee, Florida and in Germany on the United States’ Olympic short list squad was awarded 73.267% by the four-judge panel on the 10-year-old KWPN mare owned by Alice Tarjan.
Isabell and Special Blend, a nine-year-old Oldenburg stallion, scored 74.633% for the win.
The German-born Marcus said he was thrilled to be competing along with his boyhood idols–Germans Isabell Werth and Nadine Capellmann who placed fourth on Waitoni on 69.467%.
