HERNING, Denmark, Mar. 8, 2024–Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour rode Mount St. John Freestyle to a score of 80% Friday to dominate the Danish Warmblood Stallion CDI5*, only the second international competition for the partnership.
The Danish double Olympian and the 15-year-old Hanoverian mare were awarded 80.413% three months after the international debut of the duo.
Freestyle was previously competed by Charlotte Dujardin of Great Britain including at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon in 2018 where they earned team and individual bronze medals.
Cathrine rode Cassidy at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and Bohemian at Tokyo, a horse now owned by Zen Elite of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and competed by Endel Ots of Wellington, Florida.
Fellow Denmark rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen on the 13-year-old Westfalen stallion Vayron was runner-up on 74.783%.
Team mate Nanna Skodborg Merrald on Blue Hors Don Olymbrio, 16-year-old KWPN stallion, was third on 74.435%.
