A petition to United States and international equestrian governing bodies to ban American Cesar Parra for life reached 4,000 signatures as of Wednesday.

The petition was created three weeks ago shortly after videos and photos showing Cesar Parra abusing horses were sent to the U.S. Equestrian Federation and the FEI, the International Equestrian Federation.

The FEI “provisionally suspended” Parra effective Feb. 2. The USEF reports it is investigating the case before taking independent action.

The petition is addressed to the USEF, the U.S. Dressage Federation and the FEI.

The petition is set up on MoveOn, a website focused primarily on American domestic “progressive” politics.
