GOTHENBURG, Sweden, Feb. 23, 2024–Maria von Essen of Sweden and Invoice won the World Cup Grand Prix Friday, the second last qualifier in Western Europe for the Final in Riyadh in mid-April.
Maria and the 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding were awarded 71.261% in the first World Cup event for the partnerhip.
Domien Michiels of Belgium on Intermezzo van het Meerdaalhof, 15-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding, was second on 70.848%
Thamar Zweistra of the Netherlands on Hexagon’s Ich Weiss was third on 70.283%.
The Freestyle to decide points is scheduled for Saturday.
