NEUMÜNSTER, Germany, Feb. 17, 2024–Emmelie Scholtens and Indian Rock won the World Cup Grand Prix Saturday, the first victory by the Dutch partnership in this year’s series leading to the Final in Saudi Arabia in two months.
Emmelie and the 11-year-old KWPN stallion scored 73.456% for the win. Less than a third of a point separated the top four places.
The pair competed on the Netherlands’ team at the 2022 World Championships and the European Championships last year.
Belgium’s Larissa Pauluis on Flambeau, 14-year-old KWPN gelding, posted a personal best score of 73.283% for runner-up.
Matthias Alexander Rath of Germany on the 11-year-old Hanoverian stallion Destacado FRH was third on 73.216%.
Sweden’s Patrik Kittel on the 12-year-old Westfalen mare Forever Young HRH was fourth on 73.130%. Patrik is atop the Western European standings and has already qualified for the Final.
The Freestyle to decide points is scheduled for Saturday.
