Jose Daniel Martin Dockx of Spain and Australia’s Simone Pearce made big jumps into the top 50 in the world rankings as of the end of November.
Dani Dockx jumped to 41st from 280th in the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) rankings at the end of October based on performances with Malagueño LXXXIII, the 13-year-old PRE stallion that climbed to No. 46 from 319 the previous month. The FEI ranks riders and horses separately.
Dani rode Malagueño on Spain’s teams at the European Championships in September and the 2022 World Championships.
Simone Pearce made an equally large jump to No. 47 from 283.
The ranking for the Germany-based Simone was based on results from three different horses, Destano, Immerdale and Fiderdance.
The return to Simone’s competition lineup of Destano, the 16-year-old Hanoverian stallion she rode on the Australian team at the Tokyo Olympics, gave the rider results that boosted her ranking.
There were only minor movements at the top of the rankings.
Germany’s Jessica von Bredow-Werndl remained at No. 1 as did her Olympic and championship mount TSF Dalera BB.
Charlotte “Lottie” Fry of Great Britain was still at No. 2 but her world champion partner Glamourdale dropped to No. 4.
Nanna Skodborg Merrald of Denmark remained third in the world and Charlotte Dujardin of Britain fourth. However, Nanna’s mount Blue Hors Zepter moved up to No. 2 from third while Charlotte Dujardin’s partner Imhotep climbed to No. 3 from fourth the previous month.
America’s Alice Tarjan and her nine-year-old mare Jane were both ranked No. 1 in the world CDI2* rankings, up from No. 2 the previous month.
Alice and Jane have a perfect record of nine victories in international competitions going back to October, 2022.
