WROCLAW, Poland, Oct. 27, 2023–Germany’s Matthias Alexander Rath rode Destacado FRH to a dominating victory in the World Cup Grand Prix Friday, the 10-year-old stallion’s first qualifier for the annual championship.

The score of 75.109% for the Hanoverian was just 0.08% shy of a personal best for the horse’s lifelong partnership with Matthias. The pair began Big Tour two years ago.

Borja Carrascosa of Spain and Sir Hubert NRW, 10-year-old Westfalen gelding, was runner-up on 69.804%.

Antonia von Dungern, also of Germany, on DSP Queen Rubin, 12-year-old German Sport Horse mare, placed third on 69.805%.

The Grand Prix Freestyle to decide points for the World Cup Final is scheduled for Sunday.

Susan Pape of Great Britain debuted Harmony’s V-Plus to win the CDI3* Grand Prix on 71.196%.

V-Plus that the Germany-based Susan competed at Small Tour in the Global Dressage Festival of Wellington, Florida in 2022 and earlier this year is owned by Susan and Harmony Sporthorses of Kiowa, Colorado

Germany’s Greta Heemsoth on the 10-year-old mare Donja KWG placed second on 65.957% with Aleksandra Szulc of Poland on Breakdance, 12-year-old Polish-bred gelding, third on 65.956%.
