Julio Mendoza Loor of Ecuador on Jewel’s Goldstrike won Pan American Games individual gold medal Wednesday, Brazil’s João-Victor Marcari Oliva on Feel Good VO took silver, Anna Marek on Fire Fly of USA on First Apple the bronze.

The 44-year-old Julio who is based in Columbus, North Carolina, and his 12-year-old KWPN gelding, are the first medalists ever in the 72 years of the Pan Ams and the result earned him a start as an individual at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Svenja Grimm, 33, a German born rider who now competes for Chile, appear to have qualified on Doctor Rossi, a 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding for a second individual start in Paris. The FEI schedule does not specify the requirements.
