MYAKKA CITY, Florida, Oct. 20, 2023–Kevin Kohmann rode Dünensee to a personal best score to win the Terra Nova World Cup Grand Prix Friday.

The German-born rider who began competing under the Stars ‘n’ Stripes two years ago this month scored 70.478% on the 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding. The victory was the first victory for the pair in the USA.

The combination competed in Europe over the summer including the Nations Cup in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Kevin said he finally had the time for four to five weeks to focus on training and riding at home.

“We did a test ride at training camp last week and we have been just super consistent,” he said.

Christoph Koschel of Germany, who spends winters in Wellington and who rode Dünensee before Kevin “helped to put it all together and now I got to make it mine.”

Kevin is based in Wellington, Florida and is a trainer at Diamante Farms that owns the horse. He is engaged to Devon Kane whose family owns Diamante and whom he credited with helping him at home.

Benjamin Ebeling also of Wellington on Indeed, a 15-year-old Danish Warmblood mare, was second on 68.044%, with Mikala Münter of Wellington on Skyfall, 14-year-old Oldenburg gelding, third on 66.696%.
