Two riders in their 20s and two in their 30s including double gold medalist from four years ago were named by US Equestrian to the United States team for the Pan American Games in Santiago Oct. 22-25.
The team comprises three combinations at Grand Prix level and one at Small Tour:
–Codi Harrison, 27, of Wellington, Florida and Katholt’s Bossco, her 16-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding;
–Anna Marek, 34, of Dunnellon, Florida and Fire Fly, 13-year-old KWPN gelding owned by Janet Simile;
–Christian Simonson, 21, based in Wellington and Son of a Lady, a 12-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding owned by Christina Morgan and Clifton Simonson, and
–Sarah Tubman, 35, of Wellington, and First Apple, 13-year-old KWPN stallion owned by Summit Farm.
Three of the U.S. team riders–Codi Harrison, Anna Marek and Sarah Tubman–will compete at Grand Prix level, and Christian at Small Tour.
The Games offer two starting places at the 2024 Paris Olympics, but the United States qualified at the World Championships last summer.
USEF Dressage High Performance Pathway Advisor, George Williams will serve as the U.S. Dressage Team Chef d’Equipe.
Correction: An earlier version gave an incorrect age for Anna Marek. She is 34.
