RIESENBECK, Germany, Sept. 7, 2023–Charlotte Dujardin rode the 10-year-old Imhotep to a personal best score of 82.422% in the European Championships Grand Prix Thursday that moved Britain closer to team gold following a personal best a day earlier from Carl Hester on Fame.

Charlotte’s 15th international ride on the KWPN gelding was met with thunderous applause on the second of two days of the Grand Prix.

It came a little over three hours before the highly anticipated first head-to-head competition between Charlotte “Lottie” Fry on Glamourdale and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl on TSF Dalera BB.

World champions Lottie and Glamourdale have no previously scored as high in a regular Grand Prix, though posted 84.026% in the short version at London last Christmas.

Jessica and Dalera, Olympic champions and ranked top in the world, had a result of more than 84% in the Grand Prix at the Olympics and has since scored several times at 83% or better.in the same general area.

With both Lottie and Jessica still to go, Britain was leading with 160.92 and Germany second on 155.062.

Charlotte on Valegro established dressage world records that still stand.
