CROZET, France, Aug. 4, 2023–German team rider Matthias Alexander Rath on the 10-year-old Destacado FRH won the Jiva Hill CDI3* Grand Prix Friday while Swedish Olympian Patrik Kittel in a debut performance on Galleria Bohemian placed third behind Larissa Pauluis of Belgium on First-Step Valentin on a personal best score.
Matthias and the Hanoverian stallion were awarded 75.000% the highest score and the third win in six starts so far this year.
Larissa and the 11-year-old Westfalen stallion Valentin scored 72.500% for runner-up.
Patrik Kittel riding Bohemian, owned by Korean Deong Son Kim’s Sportferde Galleria, received 71.652% for third place. Bohemian resisted the transition into the first passage, sharply reducing marks for the pair.
Bohemian, Westfalen gelding now 13 years old, was competed for Denmark by Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour at the Tokyo Olympics and the 2021 European Championships.
The horse was sold to Deong Son Kim early this year who competed at Wellington’s Global Dressage Festival with on-site coaching from Cathrine.
He recently disclosed that he is selling the string of horses, including Bohemian, to concentrate on his family’s business.
