FALSTERBO, Sweden, July 16, 2023–Denmark won the CDIO4* Nations Cup Sunday, maintaining dominance for a second day in the final team competition in the trans-Atlantic series. Sweden took silver and the Netherlands bronze.
Germany had already clinched the six-event series with victories in Wellington, Florida; Budapest and Aachen, Germany, the third title since being established in 2013.
Coming into Sunday, Denmark was atop the event with Daniel Bachmann Andersen on the 11-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding Zippo M.I.’s leading the way after a third place finish in the Grand Prix.
Teammates Anna Zibrandtsen on the 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding Quel Filou captured the Special Sunday on 75.745% with Daniel and Zippo runner-up on 75.128%.
Patrik Kittel and and the 11-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding Touchdown, his 2022 World Championship mount, scored 85.905% in the Freestyle for first, as the pair was in the Grand Prix.
Denmark’s Nadja Aaboe Sloth on Favour Gersdorf placed fourth on 76.900%
Denmark competed in only three of the six events in this year’s series, winning here and in Compiègne, France, and placing second in Aachen behind Germany.
