FALSTERBO, Sweden, July 15, 2023–Denmark captured the lead midway through the Nations Cup Saturday despite Sweden’s Patrik Kittel on Touchdown and Malin Wahlkamp-Nilson on Bergsjoholms Valbonne placing first and second individually in the CDIO4* Grand Prix.

Patrik and and the 11-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding that was his 2022 World Championship mount scored 76.674% to top the lineup of 20 starting combinations from five nations in the sixth and final event in the trans Atlantic series.

Team mate Malin Wahlkamp-Nilson on Bergsjoholms Valbonne, a 10-year-old Swedish Warmblood stallion, was runner-up on a personal best 74.000%.

Daniel Bachmann Andersen on the 11-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding Zippo M.I. placed third individually on 73.522% to give Denmark the lead with the Grand Prix Special and the Freestyle to come.

Standings of the teams after the Grand Prix decided by counting the placings of the top three combinations of each nation: 1. Denmark 15 points; 2. Sweden 22; 3. Germany 26; 4. Netherlands 31; 5. Spain 37.

Germany has an insurmountable lead in the series with victories at Wellington, Florida; Budapest and Aachen, Germany.
