Two six-year-old horses and one seven-year-old have been selected by the United States to compete at the World Breeding Championship for Young Horses in Ermelo, Netherlands Aug. 3-6.
The riders and horses are:
–Hope Beerling of Califon, New Jersey and Vianne, seven-year-old Hanoverian mare (Vitalis x Ramiro’s Bube) bred by Catherine Haddad Staller and owned by Norcordia USA – see separate story;
–Rebecca Rigdon of Encinitas, California and MSJ for VIPS, six-year-old Oldenburg gelding bred by Mount St. John Equestrian of Great Britain and owned by Lauren Fisher that scored an average 83.750 in qualifying competitions, and
–Adam Steffens of Wellington, Florida and Candoit’s Fabuleux Coeur, a six-year-old Oldenburg stallion (Furst Jazz x Sandro Hit), bred in Germany by Gestüt Lewitz and owned by Candoit Stables that scored an average of 83.200.
Rebecca Rigdon, who is married to dressage competitor and trainer David Blake, competed extensively in Florida as well as California and spent six months working as an auction rider for the Holsteiner Verband in in Germany.
