SHERWOOD, Oregon, June 2, 2023–Canada’s Pia Fortmüller rode Frieda to victory in the inaugural Ginny Rattner Memorial CDI3* Grand Prix Friday, the first competition for the partnership this year.
Pia scored 69.109% for the win on the 12-year-old Hanoverian mare she competed on Canada’s team at the Global Dressage Festival Nations Cup in Wellington, Florida last year as well as in Europe. This was the second CDI Grand Prix win for the duo, the first in the initial Big Tour outing at Wellington in January 2022.
Daniela Groenke of the USA and the 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding Bardolino was runner-up on 65.782%.
Nadine Schwartsman of Eagle, Idaho on Elnieta, 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare, was third on 64.413% in the first Big Tour event for the pair.
