WIESBADEN, Germany, May 29, 2023–Dorothee Schneider and Showtime FRH won the CDI4* Grand Prix Special Monday for a double victory for the two-time German Olympic team gold medal partnership.

Dorothee and the 17-year-old Hanoverian gelding were awarded 76.723% for the victory in the first Grand Prix Special since the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. The pair won the Grand Prix earlier.

This the first double victory since 2019 and the first back to back competition for the popular duo since the Tokyo Games, having withdrawn from competitions in the two years since then.

Dorothee and Showtime were on German teams at the Tokyo Olympics and the 2018 Rio de Janeiro Games, both gold medal performances.

The pair is one of only 10 combinations in history to have scored at least 90%, which the duo did at the 2019 European Championships.

As in the Grand Prix, Isabel Freese of Norway on Total Hope OLD, the 11-year-old Oldenburg stallion out of Totilas, was runner-up, scoring 73.000% in the Special.

Germany’s Sandra Nuxoll and the 11-year-old KWPN gelding Bonheur de la Vie placed third on 72.426%.

Sarah Tubman of Wellington, Florida, and the 13-year-old KWPN stallion First Apple were 10th on 68.915%.
