WINDSOR, England, May 10, 2023–Charlotte Dujardin rode Imhotep to victory in the Royal Windsor Horse Show CDI4* Grand Prix Wednesday, the first competition in eight months and the birth of her daughter Isabella.
Charlotte and the 10-year-old KWPN gelding were awarded 77.261% for the win in the first competition since competing on Britain’s 2022 World Championships silver medal team,.
Championship teammate Gareth Hughes, on the 17-year-old KWPN mare, Classic Briolinca, was runner-up on 75.435%.
“I haven’t competed for eight months, and Pete [Imhotep] hasn’t done a competition since the FEI World Championships,” Charlotte said. “I have only been back riding for three weeks so I was worried I would be a bit ring rusty, But he was incredible and was so positive with his energy. There are still areas that we can improve on which is exciting. We are now aiming for the European Championships this summer.”
