WELLINGTON, Florida, JAN. 13, 2023–Frederic Wandres rode Hot Hit OLD to a personal best score for victory in the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday, the first competition for the German team rider in the winter-long Global Dressage Festival.
Frederic and the 12-year-old Oldenburg dubbed the “little unicorn”as a gray scored 75.348% in the first event for the partnership since last August and lengthening to five their winning string beginning in Europe last summer.
This was the third Wellington season for the rider for Hof Kasselmann of Hagen, Germany who rode Duke of Britain, his main Big Tour mount, on his bronze medal nations’ team at the world championships last year. Hot Hit has been been developed over the past six years.
Carrier Schopf of Armenia and Saumur, 15-year-old Oldenburg gelding, was second on 69.739%.
Codi Harrison of Wellington on the 16-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding Katholt’s Bossco placed third on 68.413%.
Frederic was pleased that Hot Hit performed consistently after a break from competition of almost six months despite stormy and cold weather that interrupted the the event.
