FRANKFURT, Germany, Dec. 17, 2022–Germany’s Matthias Alexander Rath and Destacado FRH won the CDI5* Grand Prix Special Saturday to wrap up the year with the eighth victory in 10 starts.

Matthias and the nine-year-old Hanoverian stallion scored 74.596% for the win after placing third in the Grand Prix.

Patrik Kittel of Sweden and Forever Young HRH, 10-year-old Westfalen mare, was awarded 73.170% for runner-up in the first Big Tour Special for the pair.

Stefan Lehfellner rode the 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding Roberto Carlos MT also to a personal best score of 72.362%. The Austrian rider began competing Roberto Carlos internationally as a six-year-old and moved up to Big Tour in May, competing in the world championships in August.
