The success of Emilio ridden by Isabell Werth in top sport over five weeks boosted the 16-year-old gelding 230 places to No. 13 in the world in the latest International Equestrian Federation (FEI) rankings posted Tuesday.

In the second month of new ranking rules that list horses and riders separately and cut the period for six scores to count over the past eight months from eight results for horse and rider combinations over a year, the standing of Isabell as a rider edged up to No. 3 from fourth the previous month. The standing included results on three different horses–Emilio, DSP Quantaz and the now retired Weihegold OLD.

TSF Dalera BB, the 15-year-old Trakehner mare, and rider Jessica von Bredow-Werndl remained atop the standings for both horses and riders as they have been since August 2021 following their Tokyo Olympic gold medal performances when the rankings were for rider and horse combinations. Jessica and Dalera last week returned to competition to win the World Cup event at Lyon, France after a baby break of six months during which previous scores are retained.

Vamos Amigos, 10-year-old Westfalen gelding, was the No. 2 horse as it was the previous month while rider Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour that led Denmark to the world championship was the second ranked rider.

Glamourdale, the world championship individual and freestyle gold medal horse, held on to the No. 3 spot but rider Charlotte Fry of Great Britain dropped a place to fourth.

Other big changes included Destacado FRH, nine-year-old stallion, up from 269th in September to 45th after sweeping a competition last month with rider Matthias Alexander Rath of Germany going up to 31st from 34th, and Addict de Massa to 46th from 283rd and rider Anna Ksprzak of Denmark to 28th from 50th.
