ZAKRZÓW, Poland, Oct. 29, 2022–Germany’s Olympic eventing gold medal rider Ingrid Klimke and Franziskus won the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday a day after capturing the Grand Prix.

Ingrid and the 14-year-old Hanoverian stallion that were on the German bronze medal team at the world dressage championships in August scored 79.675% for the win.

In addition to the world championships this year, Ingrid’s other major dressage championship was at the World Cup Final on Nector VH Carelshof in 2002.

In eventing, she has won two Olympic team gold medals and one silver as well as multiple team and individual medals at world and European Championships.

Spain’s Severo Jurado Lopez on Dahoud was runner-up on 78.020% in the first Big Tour musical performance for the eight-year-old Hanoverian gelding.  in the third Big Tour for the duo. The pair was also second in the Grand Prix on a personal best 70.565%.

Justina Vanagaite of Lithuania on Nabab placed third on 72.900%. Justina and the nine-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding competed at the 2021 European Championships and the world championships in August.

The rider is tied with Alisa Glinka of Moldova at the top of the Central European standings to qualify for the Final in Omaha in April with only one more qualifier remaining, at Motesice in Slovakia in two weeks. Central Europe gets two of the 18 starting places in Omaha.
